“Celebrating the Past, Enjoying the Present and Safeguarding the Future”
The Society was established in 1986 to provide public benefit in the area comprising the Civil Parish of Bishop's Waltham, for the following purposes:
- To promote high standards of planning and architecture in or affecting the area
- To educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture of the area
- To secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest
- To promote civic pride
- To act as a coordinating body and to cooperate with the local authorities, planning committees, and all other statutory authorities, voluntary organisations, charities and people who have aims similar to those of the Society.
The full set of objectives and purposes, and our rules, can be found in the full Constitution.
Details of what we do, why you might want to become a member (and how to do it), and details of all our activities are available on this website.
Please look around the site and – if you are not familiar with Bishop’s Waltham - do look at the information on our mediaeval market town and visit us soon. You’ll find a warm welcome.
